Janet Sievers, President

Janet has owned The Quilt Shop in Wakefield, NE since 1995.  Before starting The Quilt Shop she operated sewing and alterations shop in her home.  She lives on a farm near Carroll, NE with her husband Larry.  They have 5 grown children and 13 grandchildren ranging from 4 -17 years old.  When not quilting she enjoys going to all her grandchildren’s sporting and musical events OR going in an antique shop searching for another antique sewing machine or more antique china to fill in her collections.

Marie Glenn, president elect

Marie opened Heavenly Treasures in 2004 in the 1905 church building that she grew up attending.  She and her husband, Steve, have been married 40 years and have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.  They own 8 companies in the state and love to travel.

Ruth Haarberg, Secretary

Wagner's Quilt Shop has been in existence  since 1999.  She lives in Arapahoe with her husband of 50 1/2 years, Lorris.  They own & manage the separate locations of  Wagner's Supermarket & Wagner's Variety as well as Wagner's Quilts & Conversation Quilt Shop.  They have 7 grandchildren ages 5 to 25.  Their daughter, Gretchen Kubik, helps with the businesses & also designs for the quilt shop. Ruth is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church & an organist there.  She currently  reigns as the oldest member of the NIFS Organization  ~ a responsibility she takes seriously !!!

Deb Lespreance, Membership chairman

has worked at Calico Cottage in Hastings for 18 years and has managed the store since 1999.  Her sewing enthusiasm began as a teenager with garment construction but has evolved into quilting since the mid '80's.  She enjoys the planning process, the math and, of course, finishing a project! Deb lives in Hastings with her husband, Gary.  They have 4 grown children and she still delights in sewing outfits for their two young granddaughters.
